Cyprus, Early to middle bronze age, ca 2500 to 1600 BCE. Terracotta pouring vessel with wide foot, bulbous body, short neck, rounded handle and beaked spout. Exterior has been stone burnished to create a wonderful deep sheen, hence 'red polished' description. 8"H.

Provenance: Ex-private collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
