South America, Colombia, Muzo region, ca. millions of years old. A rough and uncut emerald, perfect for jewelers to incorporate into a pendant or to enjoy as a precious gemstone. Colombia boasts some of the world's most exquisite emerald deposits, renowned for their unparalleled quality and breathtaking hues ranging from bluish green to pure green. The unique geography and geological features of the region which include hydrothermal brines (hot salty water from volcanic activity) that are rich with the minerals necessary to create the green hue that make Colombian emeralds the greenest in the world! It is common to find inclusions in these emeralds, they serve as a testament to the gem's natural formation process, adding character and depth to each precious stone. Size: 0.76" L x 0.32" W (1.9 cm x 0.8 cm); weight: 1.6 grams equivalent to 8 carats.
