Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built terracotta male figure standing atop delineated legs. The man wears a knee-length skirt with incised motifs on the fringe and fold, a thin belt, a nude torso with delineated pectoral muscles, and thick arms with stylized fingers. The ovoid head boasts coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a perky nose, thin lips, and tab-shaped ears, all beneath a striated cap. A fine figural example from ancient West Mexico! Size: 2.625" W x 5.5" H (6.7 cm x 14 cm); 6.3" H (16 cm) on included custom stand.

  • Condition: Repaired from multiple pieces, with resurfacing and light adhesive residue along break lines. Light abrasions and petite nicks to limbs, body, and head, with fading to areas of original coloration, and softening to some finer incised details. Light earthen deposits and root marks throughout.
