Pre-Columbian, Central America, Panama, Grand Cocle, ca. 500 to 900 CE. A pair of attractive, wheel-thrown terracotta red-slip vessels, one a pedestal dish and the other an olla with a petite composition. First is a shallow dish with a large pedestal base, a slender neck, and a rolled rim with an orange-red coloration. The second vessel is a squat olla with a near-flat base, a spherical body, a recessed neck, and a flared rim with a stripe across the top, all with a red-orange hue. Both vessels are decorated with abstract, black-painted linear and geometric designs, imbuing each with a wonderful bichrome appearance. Size of largest (pedestal dish): 3.125" H (7.9 cm).
