Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1000 to 1450 CE. A wearable necklace made from ancient silver, quartz, shell, and copper beads, strung together in modern times on a monofilament wire with a barrel clasp. The strand consists of tiny 90% silver beads with the copper hummingbirds or ibis - both species have lengthy bills! At the center is a large spherical quartz bead and 2 orange-red spondylus shell beads. Size of strand: 22.5" L (57.2 cm); copper birds: 1" L x 0.3" W (2.5 cm x 0.8 cm); silver quality: 90%; weight: 30.7 grams
