Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chimu, ca. 12th to 15th century CE. A tall, mold-made blackware effigy vessel depicting a male figure, possibly a lord, his tall headdress also serving as the spout, his face delineated on the neck of the piece - with bold features such as coffee bean shaped eyes, a protruding nose, and closed lips with a protruding labret and nose ring. The body is broad, with rounded shoulders and relief arms. It stands on a flat base with two tiny, protruding feet, giving the impression of a man sitting with his tunic stretched over his body. Size: 6" W x 9.9" H (15.2 cm x 25.1 cm)
