Description:

**Originally Listed At $850**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Guanajuato Valley, Chupicuaro, ca. 300 to 100 BCE. A fabulous Chupicuaro standing female figure with a strikingly flat, abstract form and an attractive bi-chrome finish, her hollow form skillfully painted in hues of red and cream, with a lovely vertical striped pattern adorning her headdress or coiffure above her almond/diamond-shaped eyes. She gazes upon us with her characteristically oversized head, the visage detailed with double-pierced eyes, an incised smile, a pointy nose with delineated nostrils, and ears perforated for the suspension of ornaments. She stands upon a pair of straight legs with her attenuated arms to her sides, framing her wide hips. Size: 10.375" H (26.4 cm); 10.625" H (27 cm) on included custom stand.
