Two stunning hand built pottery bowls, first with deep, flaring walls upon a short foot, decorated via the negative resist technique on both the interior and exterior. The interior presents stylized geometric motifs in russet red, chocolate brown, and almond beige hues, exterior with 4 sets of 3 vertical stripes in almond/beige over chocolate brown. Second example features two monkeys in profile with geometric pattern in center, exterior with 4 sets of 5 "fingers" possibly representing primate hands. Size of largest: 7.75" W x 3.125" H (19.7 cm x 7.9 cm)

Provenance: private Stone Mountain, Georgia, USA collection, acquired in Colombia in the 1970s.
