Pre-Columbian, Central Mexico, Mixtec, ca. 1200 CE. A striking bichrome terracotta spouted vessel, of an intriguing round form with three protruding animorphic extensions that resemble feet or perhaps heads. The body as well as the wide slightly flared spout are hand-painted in white on a red ground, with stylized geometric motifs and an interlacing serpent-like creature. Size: 5.75" W x 3.25" H (14.6 cm x 8.3 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Harvey Collection, acquired prior to 1972
