Eurasia, Siberian Tundra, Pleistocene period (Ice Age), ca. 200,000 to 20,000 years ago. An extremely rare, fossilized horse skull from the last Ice Age! Because of the natural cranial bone structure, complete skulls from horses seldom survive in such intact condition; usually we see just fragments and isolated teeth! The skull is a caramel brown hue from the fossilization process and, we cannot stress enough, nearly complete but for the tip of the pre-maxilla jaw! The molars are all original and still attached as found. Because of every other impeccably preserved detail, the original collector opted to not restore this example and keep it in the original condition in which it was found. The delicate bones and processes are still intact that normally are destroyed or lost. This nearly complete example is from before the Holocene period; an uncommon find and opportunity to acquire a Pleistocene era specimen in amazing condition!
