Lot 46A
Ancient Rome, ca. 100 to 200 CE. A carefully sculpted female head with a beautiful visage, replete with delicately delineated details. Note how the sculptor made this marble come to life with her almond-shaped eyes with drilled pupils, straight and noble looking nose, bow-shaped lips, and cleft chin. Her hair is arranged in a center part and covered with a draping veil. That steadfast gaze is marvelously mesmerizing! Custom stand. Similar examples have been known to garner between $10,000 and $20,000. Size: 3.375" W x 3.625" H (8.6 cm x 9.2 cm)
