Description:

Ancient Egypt, Ptolemaic Period, ca. 332 to 30 BCE. A petite cosmetic palette formed from faience and covered with turquoise-hued glaze. The convex dish features a slightly beveled rim while a pair of trapezoidal handles - one now missing - project from the side walls. Palettes like this were used primarily in women's' toilettes to hold a myriad of personalized cosmetic material. Size: 1.8" L x 1.68" W x 0.4" H (4.6 cm x 4.3 cm x 1 cm)
