Description:

Northern Italy, Villanovan or Early Etruscan culture, ca. 9th to 6th century BCE. A cast bronze fibula made from a continuous piece of bronze, shaped into a curvilinear openwork piece with two loops coiled into the center. The lengthy pin dramatically flares up to rest in a curved clasp. This style is reminiscent of an archer's bow and is covered in a rich green patina. Size: 4" L x 3.75" W (10.2 cm x 9.5 cm); 4.25" H (10.8 cm) on included custom stand.
