Classical World, Etruria, ca. 700 to 500 BCE. A fascinating redware head of a dignitary or noble, featuring a huge headdress with a V-shaped band above the naturalistic face. Two applied eyes mark the face, as does a lifelike nose and small mouth. Size: 2.75" W x 5.3" H (7 cm x 13.5 cm)

  • Condition: Head is a fragment from a larger sculpture. The lower edge of the neck is slightly rough. Small chip from top of headdress, another from neck, and from the ears. Form is clear with nice deposits.
