Description:

Northern Italy, Etruria, 4th century BCE. Lovely and well-preserved pottery pedestal plate from the very important Genucilia group of painters. Portrait in profile facing left, 5-band wave around, ringed decoration on underside of plate. The vast majority of plates in the Genucilia style are simple geometric patterns. This is a very fine example with finely painted profile! Size: 5.5" W x 2.125" H (14 cm x 5.4 cm)
