Description:

Classical World, Etruria, central Italy, Genucilia Group, ca. 600 to 400 BCE. A pretty pottery plate decorated with a four-pointed star on the shallow floor and three dots in each of the interstices. The narrow rim is enhanced with six spiral waves. The name of the pottery group derives from a Faliscan or Latin lady named Poplia Genucilia, the owner of a similar plate which was inscribed with her name. Size: 5.75" W x 2.05" H (14.6 cm x 5.2 cm)

Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-Cecil Anderson and Professor Ernest Ball collection, San Francisco, California, USA, collected in the 1970s
