Northern Italy, Etruscan, late 7th to early 6th century BCE. An elegant blackware vessel exhibiting a concave, circular base and an apple-form body that narrows to a slender neck and a flared rim. The lovely vessel is beautifully adorned with a double-tiered neck and an incised motif of solid and dashed bands along the rounded shoulder and on the upper part of the neck. Enveloped in jet black glaze characteristic of Bucchero-ware, this vessel is a remarkable example from ancient Etruria. Size: 4.25" in diameter x 7.5" H (10.8 cm x 19 cm)
