Description:

Northern Italy, Etruria, Etruscan people, ca. 6th to 2nd century BCE. A wonderful bronze male offering figure draped in a toga as he holds a patera or libation bowl in one hand and a torch in the other. Standing contrapposto on an integral base, the stylized figure displays large, sandaled feet, thick, tubular arms, and a petite head. His visage is angled slightly downward, displaying huge eyes, a flat nose, and a thin-lipped smile. He tilts the patera as to pour the liquid out as an offering to the gods - a gesture typical of human and divine beings who are making a sacrifice. Size: 1" L x 1.8" W x 3.6" H (2.5 cm x 4.6 cm x 9.1 cm); 4.5" H (11.4 cm) on included custom stand.
