Ancient Egypt, Neolithic to Predynastic Period, ca. 7000 to 3200 BCE. A set of 2 hand-knapped chert scrapers, each exhibiting a relative ovoid form bearing attractive brown and beige hues that are naturally mottled. The first tool is of slightly lighter color and has a wide dorsal ridge spanning almost the entire width of the tool. The larger tool features a more dramatically curved body with a slight bend in one side that was perhaps utilized as a thumb rest. Size of largest: 5.2" L x 1.3" W (13.2 cm x 3.3 cm)
