Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, 13th to 15th Dynasty, ca. 1803 to 1550 BCE; Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A set of 3 faience amulets from 2 chronologically distant periods in ancient Egyptian civilization. First is a Middle Kingdom scarab with a unity knot; second is a Hyksos scarab with hieroglyphs depicting a knot, a feather, and a lotus; and last is a Late Dynastic wedjat amulet (also wadjet or Eye of Horus). Size of largest (wedjat): 0.87" L x 0.19" W x 0.61" H (2.2 cm x 0.5 cm x 1.5 cm)

  • Condition: Both scarabs with minor chips and softening to some inscribed details, with light fading to glaze on wedjat amulet, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to overall forms, and nice detailing on wedjat amulet.
