Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A cast-bronze figurine of the Apis bull striding atop an integral plinth. The slender bovine creature holds its head aloft to display the sun disc crown projecting from the top of its brow. Layers of green and brown patina have developed naturally across the surfaces. Size: 1.70" L x 0.65" W x 1.88" H (4.3 cm x 1.7 cm x 4.8 cm)

Provenance: private Punta Gorda, Florida, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s
