Description:

North America, Western United States, Wyoming, Niobrara County, Lance Formation, late Cretaceous, 70 to 66 million years ago. This is a fossilized scapula (shoulder blade) from Edmontosaurus, a species of duck-billed dinosaur whose name translates to 'lizard of Edmonton,' after the Canadian city where it was first discovered. The bone, preserved in hues of brown and beige, features coloration resulting from mineralization over millions of years, giving it a natural, earthy appearance that is both visually striking and scientifically fascinating. The scapula's impressive size highlights the immense scale of Edmontosaurus, a herbivorous dinosaur that could grow nearly 50 feet long and weigh over 9 tons. Owning such a specimen offers a rare opportunity to connect with the grandeur of prehistoric life, making it a remarkable piece for collectors, educators, or anyone captivated by the prehistoric world! Size: 20" L x 2.4" W x 5.5" H (50.8 cm x 6.1 cm x 14 cm)
