Description:

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Valdivian culture, ca. 3500 to 1500 BCE. A hand-built pottery Venus figure presented with delineated legs, sinuous arms fused atop the abdomen, and perky breasts situated beneath the wide neck. Slit-form eyes, a petite nose, thin lips, and plateaued cheeks comprise the minimalist visage, and the head is topped with a tall coiffure boasting incised striations. While the head is uncolored, the chest and lower body are colored with deep red pigment. Size: 0.8" W x 2.9" H (2 cm x 7.4 cm); 3.75" H (9.5 cm) on included custom stand.
