Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

Rome, Eastern Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A beautiful mold-formed unguentarium comprised of semi-translucent, turquoise-hued glass with a planar base, a bell-shaped body, a tall cylindrical neck, and a wide mouth with an everted, in-folded rim. Though the surface is covered in thick calcifications, bright areas of stunning rainbow-hued iridescence shine through and elegantly complement the vessel's blue-green color. Glass vessels like this example were typically used to store precious scented oils. Size: 3.7" W x 5.875" H (9.4 cm x 14.9 cm).
