Description:

Eastern Europe / Central Asia, Russia, early Viking / Finno-Ugric / Perm Animal Style (Permian Animal Style), ca. 8th to 9th centuries CE. A wide, cast white bronze bracelet with a motif of a deer or possibly bear head on either end and small, human-like hands framing the animal's face. The hands flow into the long, horizontal bands that decorate the rest of the bracelet's exterior. Around the edges are repeated, stamped triangles, a popular motif on Viking metalwork. Size: 2.6" W x 1.6" H (6.6 cm x 4.1 cm); size of opening: 1.2" (3 cm)
