Southeast Asia, Northern Thailand or Laos, late Ayutthaya to Rattanakosin era, ca. late 18th to early 20th century CE. A cast brass statue of the Buddha with hands forming the bhumisparsa mudra (Earth Witness gesture), and sitting on a hollow lotus pedestal with a openwork base featuring rearing horses or possibly mythical makara creatures. Size: 10" L x 7" W x 13.75" H (25.4 cm x 17.8 cm x 34.9 cm)
