Native American, United States, Columbia River Plateau region, likely Nez Perce, ca. early 20th century CE. A pair of well-worn moccasins made from tanned hide uppers sewn to soles made of parfleche. Despite the age and use, the bead working is wonderfully intact - vibrant glass seed beads sewn to the heel and toe - the flower is unmistakably a poppy. Size: 10" L x 4.5" W (25.4 cm x 11.4 cm)
