Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Yucatan Peninsula, Maya Territories, Maya, Early Classic Period, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A fascinating hand-carved limestone torso of a figure with his arms bent at his elbow, clasping his clearly delineated fingers together over his bulging chest. Gently leaning to his right, the curious figure displays a sizable head with a prominent chin and a square visage. His lightly recessed eyes are closed, as his broad mouth curves to a tender smile below his triangular nose. A pair of slender ears flanks his flat-topped head. Size: 6.25" W x 9.5" H (15.9 cm x 24.1 cm)
