Description:

Greece, Corinth, ca. 580 to 540 BCE. A petite polychrome bowl of a gently compressed spherical form on a concave round foot with a raised rim, its curved exterior walls decorated with a procession of seven Greek hoplite warriors armed with spears and large shields with skillfully incised and painted red and brown details. The field is further decorated with concentric bands above and below the figurative composition along with pointed rays emanating from the foot. Quite handsome! Size: 3.625" in diameter x 2.625" H (9.2 cm x 6.7 cm)

Provenance: ex-Anthony (Marco) Panto collection; acquired in or near Palermo before 1950
