Central Asia, Bronze Age, ca. 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. A fascinating and rare vessel, made of heavy blackware, with a rounded, teapot-like body, a round ring foot, and a curled handle high up on the shoulder. At the top is a tall, conical spout; beside that, opposite the handle, is a rounded projection with a triangular opening for pouring. The central Asian Bronze Age has a hugely diverse archaeological record of ceramics, reflecting the localized cultures and handmade pottery of the region. Size: 5.8" W x 6.5" H (14.7 cm x 16.5 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
