Description:

Southeast Asia, Burma, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A hefty iron lock used on large temple doors. A barrel cylinder contains the locking mechanism, and a forked key enables the lock to slide open. The lengthy bar along the verso was slid into perforated door panels before being locked to prevent entry into the building. The key inserted into one end is removable. Size (together): 13" L x 3.25" W x 4.25" H (33 cm x 8.3 cm x 10.8 cm)
