Description:

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. turn of the 20th century CE. A fascinating bronze plaque, probably made to be displayed in a household shrine, featuring repousse motifs with an inscription and central mandala. The mandala is encircled by a band of the animals of the zodiac. A trio of Buddhas/bodhisattvas, each seated atop a lotus throne, dominate the upper part of the plaque. This is a rare form of Tibetan Buddhist personal devotional item. Size: 11.6" W x 14.1" H (29.5 cm x 35.8 cm)
