Description:

Oceania, Papua New Guinea, Huron Peninsula, ca. early 20th century. A beautiful hand-carved bamboo comb displaying a trapezoidal handle and nine lengthy cylindrical teeth that taper to pointed ends. The lovely handle is skillfully incised with two square motifs with top and bottom zig-zag borders. Enveloped in a warm hue of golden brown, the implement features a horizontal drill hole on its handle for suspension. Size: 2.625" W x 9.125" H (6.7 cm x 23.2 cm); 10.125" H (25.7 cm) on included custom stand.
