Native American, Western United States, Northwestern California, Hupa, Karok, Yurok culture, ca. early 20th century CE. A hand twined cap made from grasses and rods of hazel, spruce, or willow, using a single sided overlay technique in which the design only shows on the outside. This style of skull cap is traditionally worn by women in several tribes in the Northern California and Southern Oregon region. Size: 6" L x 3.5" H (15.2 cm x 8.9 cm)
