Central Asia, northeastern India/Burma, Naga people, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A dramatic bamboo quiver decorated with woven rattan on one side and a woven fiber rope that serves as a strap. Ten thin bamboo arrows, each tipped with a sharp iron point and with feathers on its opposite end, complete the ensemble. Size of quiver: 4" W x 25.5" H (10.2 cm x 64.8 cm)

  • Condition: Wear commensurate with age, including small chips, nicks, and scratches on surface of quiver and pigment lost on the arrows. The feathers have extensive wear but are still present in most cases. Iron tips all have patina but form is clear.
