Middle East, Islamic world, ca. early 20th century CE. A pretty dark brown leather case with a scalloped flap and yellow embroidery on the surface. Inside are roughly 100 pages of paper with Arabic writing on their surfaces in a neat, steady hand. A small flap of leather rests above the pages and protects them when the case is opened. Size of case: 4.7" W x 3.7" H (11.9 cm x 9.4 cm)

  • Condition: Leather has wear commensurate with age, with much of the yellow thread decorating its surface lost or frayed as shown. The leather flap protecting the pages inside is no longer attached to anything. The pages have some wear on their edges but are legible.
