Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, East Java, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A large wheel-thrown buffware pottery kendi (tea pot) with a footed base, bulbous body, a wide, tubular neck, and a flared rim. The body has a conical spout projecting from one side with a narrow pouring mouth. Size: 8.25" W x 7" H (21 cm x 17.8 cm).

  • Condition: Vessel repaired from multiple pieces with some resurfacing and new material over break lines, with some areas of restoration to body. Surface wear commensurate with age, small chips to rim, body, and base, otherwise very good. Light earthen deposits throughout.
