Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Borneo, Kayanic-Dayak, ca. early 20th century CE. A beautiful work board, hand-carved from a hard, dark wood. The undecorated side of the board is used as the flat work surface, and the portable size of the board itself meant it could be carried and placed in one's lap if need be. The carved section of the board is intricately-designed with an abstract dragon-style design, with jagged teeth, a hemispherical eye with an inlaid pupil, and a frilled mane. Enveloped in a lustrous dark-brown patina, this wonderful work board exudes character and expert artistry! Size: 21.75" L x 6" W (55.2 cm x 15.2 cm).
