Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. early 20th century CE. A pair of etched cow bone vessels, each surface decorated with intricate geometric and zoomorphic, lizard-like motifs. A wooden base has been fitted into the hollowed-out bottom of each bone, while wooden stoppers in the form of simple anthropomorphic busts hold the contents of each in place. Size of largest (they are very close in size): 2.25" W x 10.25" H (5.7 cm x 26 cm)
