Native American, Northwestern United States or Canada, Haida, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A hand carved cedar wood depiction of a face carved and painted in green black and red and with a copper panel rivet to the mouth. The head is in the classic style known as form line, a distinctive style developed by the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast (PNWC), including the Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, and Kwakwaka'wakw, among others. This style is renowned for its complex and sophisticated design elements, characterized by flowing, curvilinear lines and shapes. Size: 13.5" L x 2" W x 10.25" H (34.3 cm x 5.1 cm x 26 cm)
