Description:

Europe, France, ca. early 20th century CE. A gorgeous glass pillow vase signed "Daum Nancy" after the famous French glass factory. The vase is Art Nouveau style, standing on a thick, round base, with a narrow leg studded by a round disc; above it, the vase tapers outward into a squared-off body with a gently rounded rim. The walls are decorated with a motif of red and green flowers. The signature is incised on the foot. Daum Nancy glassware is credited to the brothers Auguste and Antonin Daum, who took over their father's glass factory in Nancy, France, in the 1870s. In the early part of the 20th century, they experimented with Art Nouveau and later Art Deco styles. Size: 4.3" W x 11.6" H (10.9 cm x 29.5 cm)
