Description:

Europe, United Kingdom, Sheffield, ca. 1905 to 1923 CE, probably earlier in that period. A coconut cup, probably from the Edwardian Period, with three delicate silver legs, each stamped with hallmarks, and a thick silver rim, also stamped with hallmarks. The hallmarks indicate that it was made by the Atkin Brothers of Sheffield. Coconut cups were an obsession in the Victorian and Edwardian periods, reflecting the worldwide market that consumers in the British Empire drew upon to decorate and furnish their homes.
