Africa, Cameroon, southwestern or coastal Cameroon, Duala peoples, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. An exemplary woven-fiber mask of a stylized dog or antelope in gorgeous contrasting hues of a deep mocha brown and a vibrant yellow-orange. The intriguing vizard displays a lengthy snout with a naturalistic nose and a broad mouth. A high central ridge travels down the lovely visage, rising to an arch between the annular eye holes. A pair of teardrop-shaped ears hangs to either side of the adorable face. Size: 6.75" W x 10.375" H (17.1 cm x 26.4 cm)
