Southeast Asia, Cambodia, ca. early 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden coconut grater in the form of an abstract feline with nubbin feet, a slender body, and a raised head, Faint eye holes and ears are visible along the top of the head, and an iron grating tool with a serrated head projects from the center of the face. Size: 24" L x 6.2" H (61 cm x 15.7 cm).

  • Condition: Side of head and neck repaired, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and nicks to body, head, and grating tool, with light oxidation to iron grating tool, and fading to some finer details. Light earthen deposits and nice patina throughout.
