Description:

North America, Eastern USA, ca. early 20th century CE. A steel tomahawk of interesting form, with no butt, and a triangular openwork blade, attached to a wooden handle wrapped in thin leather sewn up on side. Colorful strips of leather hang from the bottom of the handle. The blade has a red decorative zigzag line painted on its center. The tomahawk originated with eastern North American Native American tribes, and was quickly taken to by the European colonists, who used it as a hand-to-hand or thrown weapon. Size: 7.5" W x 22.5" H (19 cm x 57.2 cm)
