Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Central Europe, Poland, Holy Cross Mountains, Kowala Formation, Middle Devonian (Givetian), ca. 394.5 to 389.1 million years ago. A fantastic display specimen shows supremely preserved, large three-dimensional examples of Schizophoria sp. brachiopods complete with both valves intact and closed. This species is found in the middle Devonian era of the Holy Cross Mountains in Poland. Interestingly enough, this happens to be the site dating back to the time of the world's oldest tetrapod footprints ever found - fossil evidence of the first existence of four-legged vertebrates walking on land. Size: 10.25" W x 5.7" H (26 cm x 14.5 cm)
