Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A conical mold-blown glass form with a rounded bottom and a thick, flat rim, all boasting beautiful green hues with areas of rainbow and silvery iridescence. Archaeologists have discovered such forms in ancient tombs. Historians believe that they were either used to contain scented oils or as lamps for the deceased to carry with them to the next world. Nice earth deposits and rainbow iridescence, a stunning patina that is the result of thousands of years of graceful aging. Custom stand.
