Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A tall, free-blown glass vessel, pale-green in color, with a footed base and a rough pontil. The sides of the near-translucent vessel extend upwards to a rolled, flared rim, creating a deep interior cavity from which one could drink. Dense areas of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence cover most surfaces, imbuing the vessel with a bright, fiery appearance. With a thin overall composition and wispy presentation, this is a wonderful utilitarian example from the ancient Roman Empire! Size: 3.875" H (9.8 cm).
