Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A hemispherical glass bowl, very pale blue in color, with a round applied base, rolling walls, and a thin rim. Areas of rainbow-hued and pearlescent iridescence amplify the delicate and beautiful nature of this vessel. Vessels like this one could have been used during any course of a Roman meal, and were made for the table. Size: 5.4" W x 2.25" H (13.7 cm x 5.7 cm)
