Denmark, Neolithic period, ca 3500 to 2500 CBE. Made about the time Stone Henge was being created across the North Sea in England. Lovely gray stone axe head in a form known as "thick butted." Wide, heavy blade sharpened on the one end and would have been blunt on the other. Could have been used for warfare or as a wood working tool. Nicely knapped surface on all sides showing extreme stone-working skill. Marked in black ink on one side "Halland." Size: 5" L x 2.5" H (12.7 cm x 6.4 cm)
